Dr. Cecile Macatangay, DMD, is the founder and owner of Macatangay Dentistry here in Chula Vista. She has been practicing dentistry for over 20 years and has had her own practice for well over a decade. She specializes in preventative, restorative and cosmetic dentistry, and has many loyal clients, both adults and children.
Dr. Macatangay discovered her calling for dentistry when she was a child. Her father was a dentist and he proved to be her best mentor. She deeply admired how he genuinely cared for the well-being of his patients and how in turn they trusted him for their dental needs. Like her father, Dr. Macatangay has built her practice based on the pillars of honesty, integrity, trust, ethics and leadership, and her passion is to make a positive difference in the lives of others. She enjoys the “smiles” she creates for patients, while helping them improve their overall oral health. These are the reasons she thrives as a dentist.
She is also very passionate about personal transformation and well-being, using a “whole person” approach with her clients. Her special focus and expertise is how your teeth and gums relate to overall body health and self-esteem.
Dr. Macatangay is also part of a comprehensive network of oral professionals that specialize in all aspects of oral health and is a member of many dental organizations, including the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, and the San Diego County Dental Society.
Meet Our Staff
Brenda has been with Macatangay Dentistry since the practice was established in 2006. The thing that she enjoys the most about her job is the close relationships she and the staff develop with the patients so that they become their extended families. She also appreciates the culture in the office of treating everyone the way they wanted to be treated. She loves doting on her 2 children and loves to be involved in her church. Her faith in God’s love, goodness and kindness gives her the courage to handle whatever life brings her.
Marijene/MJ is the Registered Dental Hygienist. She has been working for Macatangay Dentistry since 2012. Her favorite part of dentistry is that it allows her to be a conduit for people to improve their smiles through healthy gums and teeth. Her life mantra is to eat reasonably, get enough sleep, and walk. These are simple, yet effective tactics so that we can do the things we most enjoy.
Leana Llavore is the receptionist. Her favorite color is blue. For fun, she is an online gamer, an avid hiker and enjoys learning new skills, like playing the piano. She believes that when you take the time to engage in activities that absorb your full attention, you will experience a sense of well-being and contentment. Her life motto is, “We can make a living by what we get, but we can make a life by what we give.” She enjoys that, often, in a single visit, she can experience the satisfaction, privilege and joy of positively transforming a patient’s life by helping them restore their oral health. Oddly enough, sometimes the most difficult treatments rendered the most valuable relationships.
